The short version: we collect what it takes to build and run your app, we never sell it, and you can take it or delete it whenever you like.
What we collect
Your account details: name, email, and a securely hashed password. We never see or store the password itself.
What you tell us in the interview: your business name, sector, and answers, which we use to write your proposal and build your demo.
Billing happens through Stripe. Card numbers go to Stripe, never to our servers; we keep only the subscription state Stripe reports back.
Basic service records: session cookies to keep you signed in, a cookie that remembers guest raises started in your browser, and a usage ledger when your plan consumes metered outside services.
How we use it
To run BarnBuilder for you: writing your proposal, raising your demo, billing your plan, and emailing you the things you would expect, like password resets and word that your demo is ready. We do not sell your data, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for.
Who else touches it
A short list of services run BarnBuilder under the hood: Vercel hosts the app, Neon stores the database, Stripe handles payments, Resend delivers email, and Anthropic processes text when an AI feature rewrites your proposal. Each receives only what its job needs.
How long we keep it
Raises on an account stay until you delete them or the account. Guest raises that are never claimed are removed after 90 days. If you want your account and its data deleted, email us and we will do it.
Your choices
You can read everything we hold about your raise inside the app. You can archive or delete raises, correct your details, or ask us for a copy or deletion of your data at any time.
